At the Center for the Alignment of Body, Mind and Spirit, we take great pride in providing the finest chiropractic wellness care to our patients. Below is a sampling of the different services we offer in our Wantagh office.
Chiropractors are specifically trained in assessing the condition and function of the spinal column and nervous system. The nervous system is composed of the brain, spinal cord and nerves, which are protected by the skull and spinal column. It controls all parts of the body, maintains physical and mental well being and constantly adapts your body to its environment.
Chiropractors detect and remove abnormal spinal misalignments also known as vertebral subluxations. Vertebral subluxations often interfere with the way your nervous system functions. This interference in communication between your brain and body may lead to a disruption in other bodily functions and poor health. These abnormal misalignments will also affect movement of spinal joints and can cause various musculoskeletal conditions. Vertebral subluxations may be caused by acute or chronic physical, chemical or emotional stress or trauma and may not always be accompanied by pain. Chiropractors are the only doctors trained and licensed to detect, correct and remove vertebral subluxations. Chiropractors use a technique known as a Spinal Adjustment to correct this condition.
Chiropractic care is a natural, drug-free, safe and effective way to reduce pain, lessen the effects of stress on your system, restore flexibility, maintain peak performance and ensure optimum vitality.
As a Doctor of Chiropractic, Dr. Gina Marino has years of training and experience in spinal adjustments.
We teach our patients special "blueprint" exercises to help strengthen and correct their own unique problem. These exercises can be performed in the comfort of your own home and can improve the effectiveness of your spinal correction. In addition to skeletal misalignment, muscles and connective tissues can be out of place or strained by improper alignment and use. Specific exercises and stretches can help your body stay in balance and in health.
We often find it helpful to "coach" our patients on certain activities they should avoid or do differently to avoid aggravating their particular health challenge. Our goal is to help every patient achieve a fulfilling and happy lifestyle full of the activities they enjoy most.

Reiki is a Japanese word representing Universal Life Energy, the energy that is all around us. Reiki, when activated and applied for purposes of healing, addresses body, mind and spirit. It accelerates the body's ability to heal physical ailments and opens the mind and spirit to the causes of disease and pain. Reiki uses light hand placement on various parts of the body to channel energy to organs and glands and to align your energy centers. Reiki may be used to facilitate healing of emotional and mental distress, acute or chronic physical problems and for achieving optimum well-being.

Acupuncture is an aspect of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) that involves the insertion of fine hair-like needles into specific points on the body. These points lie on meridians that channel the body's qi. When qi is not balanced in the body, one begins to show signs of dis-ease. The acupuncture points are the practitioner's means to access the qi and bring it back into balance. Some of the benefits from acupuncture include experiencing a sense of deep relaxation, improved sleep, reduction or elimination of pain, improved digestion, more energy and a sense of well-being.
